Product
Description-These
4"x4" squares are layered with a 1/4" foam, then a 1/10" PVC vinyl, and finally
a 1" foam faced with a protective aluminized mylar skin. Ideal for enclosure
linings where you need to both "block" sound from escaping and "absorb" noise
trapped inside!
Noise Barrier composite material combining the effects of the
dB-Bloc barrier vinyl, a 1/4" backing foam and a 1" front facing foam. Ideal for
lining enclosures to prevent noise transmission, reduce noise vibration and
absorb trapped sound energy within the enclosure. Also available with an
Aluminized Mylar facing to protect the material from moisture, heat, oil, abuse,
sparks, and more. Pressure sensitive backing also optional for easy
installation.
Tips:
A single layer of this material in a fully enclosed box
surrounding a noise source will on average drop 15-20 dB of sound from becoming
airborne. Every 3 dB is cutting your noise by 50%. This equates to an over 95%
reduction in audible noise transmission. A great product to cut and glue to the
interior walls of any shroud, casing, or custom built enclosure.
Installation Techniques:
Cut with a scissors and glue with silicone adhesive. Face the
thicker foam side in towards the noise source. If glue won"t hold the material,
use firring strips.

WARNING: Urethane foam, when exposed to heat or ignition sources
may burn. Once ignited, urethane foams can burn rapidly, consuming a high rate
of oxygen and releasing hazardous gases, toxic fumes and smoke. In an enclosed
space, this may prove fatal. Consideration must be given to the flammability
issue when using this product. Do not expose urethane foam to an atmosphere that
will contaminate it, nor to ignition or hear sources that may cause it to burn.
